Waves Fitness & Aquatic Centre, Baulkham Hills

This sprawling aquatic complex has all the bells and whistles: multiple pools, spa, sauna, gym, cafe, splash play for kids, plentiful free parking and more. And rules, so many rules… you can’t even walk to the counter to pay for entry, you have to wait at a sign to be “called”. Adult entry is $8.20 and over $13 if you want to use the spa and sauna as well. Staff serve very slowly, so expect to wait. But despite (or perhaps because of?) it’s feature-packed design, it’s a curiously soulless and sterile place, that we just didn’t warm to. Maybe it was seeing a lap swimmer rudely take over the two measly “splash and play” lanes when both outdoor pools were nearly totally devoted to people like him. When queried, not by the staff mind you, he said he was “splashing and playing just in a straight line”. I think it’s just the level of entitlement that ruins this one. We wouldn’t return, but if you had kids, they’d love it.

I love Waves. The facility is fantastic and love that we have both indoor and outdoor swimming options local to us now. Also love the spa and sauna and have often made use of these after long days at work. Only let down is parking is a challenge most of the time. There simply isn’t enough parking to accommodate swimmers and gym goers and I wish the council planned this better during the big rebuild. We will return to waves as it is one of our favourite local spots.

I had few unfortunate experiences with customer service at Waves swimming pool and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. I am writing because my positive experience at the gym which I visit regularly are contrasted by consistently frustrating encounters in swimming pool area. Firstly, the staff's attitude was far from accommodating. when I approach the counter to pay for my son, I was suggested to pay through the online portal instead of using my credit card at facility. This seemed like an unnecessary inconvenience, especially when paying on-site should be straight forward process. it raises question about facility transparency and convenience for its customers. Moreover, I couldn't help but notice a clear bias in the behaviour of the same staff member which appeared very friendly and accommodating towards customers from her own country, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for those who did not share the same background. The overall experience left me questioning the professionalism and inclusivity of Waves swimming pool. I hope management takes these concerns seriously to ensure a more positive and equitable experience for all members. Sincerely Mah

After the multimillion dollar facelift, the facilities here have become truely top class. The gym is spacious and with variety of equipment here can easily compete with any private facility in the area. The complex is such a wonderful addition to the community of Baulkham hills. There are many things here to checkout. The centre features a 50-metre indoor pool, a 25-metre indoor pool, a leisure pool, and a toddlers' pool, as well as a gym, a sauna, and a steam room. One of the highlights of the Waves Aquatic Centre is the 50-metre indoor pool, which is ideal for lap swimming and competitive swimming. The pool is heated to a comfortable temperature and is equipped with lane ropes and starting blocks. The 25-metre indoor pool is also heated and is perfect for leisure swimming, water aerobics, and swimming lessons. The leisure pool is a great place to relax and have fun with the family. It features a water slide, a lazy river, and a splash pad, making it a popular spot for children. The toddlers' pool is also a great option for young children and is equipped with water toys and a water fountain. The Waves Aquatic Centre also offers a range of fitness classes and programs, including aqua aerobics, yoga, and Pilates. The gym is well-equipped with cardio machines, weights, and resistance training equipment. The sauna and steam room are perfect for relaxing after a workout or swim. Overall, the Waves Aquatic Centre in Baulkham Hills is a fantastic facility that offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking to swim laps, relax in the leisure pool, or stay fit and healthy, you'll find it all at the Waves Aquatic Centre.
